Turning Displacement Into Opportunity.
UBUCHANGE helps displaced people in Africa to become Salespreneurs, those are creative entrepreneurs who make and sell products rooted in the African culture using natural fibers like banana fibers and others.
The Heart of UBUCHANGE
These are the values that guide every product we make and every life we touch.
Creativity that Changes Lives
UBUCHANGE is a social enterprise founded by young refugees in Uganda. We train and support people to create and sell products through our Salespreneurship Model, a step-by-step system that builds real businesses from local skills and natural fibers.
We turn banana stems into crafts, hunger into agribusiness, and refugees into business owners.
The Salespreneurship Model
The Salespreneurship Model is how UBUCHANGE turns creativity into livelihoods. It guides people step by step through learning, creating, and connecting to real buyers. Every person trained becomes a Salespreneur who can make, sell, and grow with confidence.
Foundation
Every Salespreneur starts with the basics. We bring people together, build their confidence, and train them in craftsmanship, entrepreneurship, and financial skills. This foundation turns ability into strength and ideas into direction.
Creation
Through hands-on learning and mentorship, Salespreneurs design and produce sustainable products from banana fibers and local materials. Every craft made reflects skill, pride, and the story of transformation.
Connection
We open access to buyers, shops, and online markets. Salespreneurs sell directly, earn fair income, and use digital tools to manage sales and reach customers across the world. This connection keeps growth in their own hands.
The 7Cs of Change
Through the 7Cs Ecosystem, we help refugees become both creators and sellers, keeping value in their own hands.
Construct
We organize people into structured groups with clear leadership and goals. This helps build teamwork and accountability.
Collaboration
We build partnerships with refugee-led groups, local markets, and buyers to open more opportunities for growth.
Capacity
We train people in leadership, financial literacy, sales, craftsmanship, and agriculture so they gain real, practical skills.
Create
We help people make high-quality, sustainable, and market-ready products that reflect both culture and innovation.
Capital
We connect groups to savings, microloans, and digital payment systems so they can grow their businesses steadily.
Channel
We open sales routes both locally and online so products reach buyers and profits reach the makers.
Connect
We use digital tools to track sales, share stories, and link refugee businesses to new markets and global opportunities.
The power of the banana
UBUCHANGE helps displaced people learn practical skills and turn banana stems into beautiful, sustainable products. What was once waste becomes crafts, baskets, and décor that bring income, confidence, and care for the environment.
Building Livelihoods Together
Every project at UBUCHANGE begins with people and grows through creativity and purpose. From art and recycling to farming, each one gives refugees and youth the tools to earn, learn, and live with dignity.
Stand for Talent
Supports young to use their smartphones and internet to earn income by promoting artisans products within their communities and networks.
Greenspace Recycling Impact
Train youth artisans to shift from using plastic raw materials to natural fiber, creating green jobs and ecofriendly crafts.
Agribusiness for Livelihoods
Empowers mothers and youth in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement to grow vegetables and create crafts from banana fibers for food and income.
Our 2030 Impact Goals
By 2030, UBUCHANGE aims to expand across Africa, reaching more communities and creating stronger livelihoods. These goals represent our vision for the future where creativity, skill, and opportunity turn displacement into strength.

Voices of Change
Behind every product is a story of strength and renewal. These are the voices of Salespreneurs who turned challenge into opportunity and now inspire others to do the same.
My name is Amina. Before UBUCHANGE, I relied on food aid and had no hope. After learning to make baskets from banana bark, I now earn an income, feed my children, and feel confident about the future.
I am Beatrice, a mother of four. When I arrived at the settlement, I only waited for help. Through UBUCHANGE, I learned to make and sell products. The day I bought school books for my children with my own income, I felt proud and independent.
My name is Zawadi. UBUCHANGE gave me new hope and skills to make and sell bags and baskets. I now earn, feel proud of my work, and know I’m part of the solution for my family and community.
My name is Kevin, I am 23 years old. Through UBUCHANGE, I became a Salespreneur using WhatsApp and Instagram to sell products made by refugee women. I now earn my own income and feel proud to support my family and others.
I am Grace, 21 years old. UBUCHANGE gave me a chance to be part of something big. I sell products online and people order from different towns. I earn and save money, but what makes me happy is that I am helping women in the settlement to also earn. I feel proud that my phone and social media can change lives.
